Iceland has been the greatest departure of what I know the world to like like by far. The topography changing from the almost martian-like landscapes, filled with volcanoes, covered in nothing but mosses and the occasional grasses, to the more sub-arctic forests and glaciers. Hot-springs galore, and waterfalls a plenty, Iceland is, in my opinion, truly one of the most unique places on earth one could visit.
