Severn Ontario is a beautiful little area, this part in particular is actually a few kilometres west of the town, on the Six Mile Lake. The small, sparsely populated road out to the spot, and big chute, makes it feel like a sort of isolated forest getaway. With the lack of people frequenting the area it makes for a good little picnic spot, or a good campsite if you can brave the wading out to the small island about fifty metres into the lake. It's mostly still, but the water will come up about four and a half feet high, which can make keeping any gear dry a bit of a challenge. The spot is about an hour drive out of barrie, so its not too far off, and can definitely be a day trip or a full weekend.
